What should I wear?
First and foremost, you, your face and expressions are the most important part of your portrait, so plan to have FUN! Everything else is secondary. Consider the location that you have chosen… is it Rustic, Modern, Beachy…try to base your choice of wardrobe around the style and colors that would complement your surroundings and YOU!
Hey Girl
This shoot is all about you, so you should be comfortable and confident in your wardrobe choices. Here are my thought...
Colors
imagine how you would like your announcement to look...consider coordinating your outfits in the college colors you will be repping for the next 4 years... Orange for Pepperdine, Red for San Diego State . Or stick to a coordinating color theme with all your outfits that you look best in !
Dresses
or skirts, long or short the flowier, (that's my word and I'm sticking to it) the better. They are so flattering on all body types, and they move when you do, which looks movement looks amazing on camera! Skirts that are too short and tight, may make posing more difficult. This could be the perfect time to pull out that prom dress you never thought you would wear again! Let's go big!
Sweaters & jackets
add texture and can be a quick change to your look.
Trendy
jumpsuits, rompers, crop tops, pant suits and two piece sets are a way to add a little "2024" to your shoot.
Spirit wear
whether it is your high school cheer sweater, your lacrosse uniform or your college Sweatshirt, spirit wear adds a look that tells the world where you've been and the path you are headed down. Bring your volleyball, a college sweatshirt, let them know about you!
Shoes
don't forget about your shoes, unless we are at the beach your shoes could be in the photo! boots with your jeans, Chucks and short, heels with your romper are all a yes!
Accessories
may just make your outfit more fun. Hats are great a fedora, newsboy cap, a beanie or a cowboy hat you choose! Jewelry should be delicate, we don't want it to detract from your cute face!
Make-up
I highly recommend hiring a makeup artist for your session to help your senior feel most confident during their session. Michelle Fallman is fantastic and will work with my clients to perfect their hair and makeup for the session. She can be reached at (949) 395-4292. Please note there is an additional fee for her services.
If you do it yourself keep it soft and natural! Try just the basics: concealer will even out skin tone, powder to help with any unwanted shine, and lip gloss will add a perfect finishing touch. If you are not comfortable with doing your own make up, I can suggest a makeup artist that works with my seniors. Don't forget to bring touch ups for your make-up and lips.
Hair
Michelle Fallman works in conjuction with a stylist, so that service can be added in addition to your makeup! A blow-dry bar or style is a fun treat! If you do it yourself, style it the way you normally do sleek and straight or beachy waves. Quick hair changes are a fun way to showcase your different styles, but keep it simple, like a soft braid , a few flowers or messy bun. Please bring a comb to tame those fly-aways.
Nails
a fresh coat of neutral colors that will go with all of your outfits is perfect.
Cap & Gown
i have colors from a number of local schools...just give me a heads up and I'll be sure to bring it.

The Guys!
Deciding on wardrobe for a photo session sounds like a lot when you normally just wear jeans and a t-shirt, but let's think out of the box. Start with jeans and your favorite casual or sports shirt, try adding a flannel or a jacket on top, board shorts if you are at the beach, and here is my favorite a shirt and tie, roll up the sleeves and even a blazer if you own one!
Add your high school sport or letterman jacket, a college t-shirt and your done!
Please avoid logos on t-shirts unless it’s your College T or Sweatshirt!
Hair consider having a haircut about one week before your session, but avoid any radical style change in case it doesn't work out as you'd planned. Bring your comb or brush with you for touch ups.
Facial Hair please make sure you are clean shaven, don't miss your neck. If you have a mustache, beard or goatee it should be neatly trimmed.
Nails make sure they a clean and trimmed.
Shoes yup they will show, so be sure they are clean. Boots or fun tennis shoes are a good addition. Unless we are ant the beach...no shoes required!

Extra Stuff
*PropsI highly recommend!!! You can add personality to your senior session with "prop" flower bouquets, balloons, a vintage truck , sports equipment, a horse or anything that tells us a bit about you! PS...Let me know if you are bringing a horse!
*College Spirit Wear shout out to your new college life by wearing a sweatshirt, t-shirt, hat, or bring a flag or banner. this is the time to go all out!
* Cap and gown can be part of your session. I have a few colors of caps and gowns in my stash, be sure to ask or you can bring your own. If you've not yet received it, ask an alumni, they often have one from prior years.
